Born September 25, 1929 in Boston, Barbara Walters is an American journalist. She is the daughter of a businessman who owns many clubs in New York. She studied in Miami, and graduated in English literature from Sarah Lawrence College in New York State.

She began her journalism career in 1952 on the Today show . She appears on other shows like The Tonight Show Johnny Carson’s . Then in 1965, she became the first woman to host a news program alongside Harry Reasoner. Eleven years later, she fronted her own show The Barbara Walters Special .

She is known for her numerous reports, as well as her interviews and her positions. His first major interview was with Monica Lewinsky after Monicagate. She carries out numerous interviews with heads of state, both American such as Richard Nixon, and foreign, with Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, Hugo Chavez, or Fidel Castro.
