Beneath the Mediterranean deck Petty Officer Malia White says Capt. Sandy Yawn should be given the same level of respect that Capt. Lee Rosbach is given from below deck. But I yawn often gets “lots of shit” instead.
Showbiz Cheat Sheet attended White’s concert total sample of the ship podcast broadcast where she and head chef Katie Flood, who both worked for Yawn, said that Yawn is a amazing leader and person.
Yawn stepped in as relief captain in below deck so Captain Lee Rosbach could seek medical attention before returning to finish the season. Sailor Katie Glaser appreciated having a woman in command, something that guided White in his career as a navigator.
Captain Sandy from ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ is an ‘incredible person’
“I think Captain Sandy gets a lot of shit that is unfair. Captain Lee can do anything. He can say anything,” White said. “But as soon as Captain Sandy puts out that same big shit energy, she gets a lot of shit, which I don’t accept because women as captains and women as anything in a leadership role have equal rights. be so direct.”
“She also has a really beautiful empathic side,” Flood said. “And so understanding.” White added that Yawn can be intense, but said, “She’s an amazing person.”
Captain Sandy listened and helped on ‘Below Deck Med,’ Katie Flood recalled
White focused on Yawn’s talents, leadership, and abilities. “Is she a good captain? Yes she is. And does she deserve to be treated the same as Captain Lee? If she does. She has the same qualifications. She has the same experience. So yes, I love Captain Sandy.”
“She was just absolutely amazing to me,” Flood recalled. “And, you know, without her, I would have been so fucked up because that whole experience was absolutely wild. all that Lexi (Wilson) situation I was screwed.” Flood Lexi Wilson’s second stew in Below Med Deck Season 6 clashed with almost every member of the crew and was ultimately fired.
“She’s so empathetic,” Flood continued about Yawn. “And if you really go to her and show her about her, I’m fighting like she sits with you and tells you. ‘She’s fine, this is what I think you should do.’ From a captain, that’s the kind of power you need. We need to be able to go to them and trust them and trust them, say, ‘Look, help me.’ And she said, ‘Look, this is what we’re going to do. That’s a good captain.
‘Below Deck’ Malia Said Yawn Had A First Time In Season 7
Blanco did not return for Below Med Deck Season 7, which is when Yawn brushed up against some cement dolphins in the harbor. “This season was the first time we’ve seen Captain Sandy hit or touch anything,” White said.
Flood said the reason Yawn made contact with the dolphins was because of the deck crew. “The most qualified boatswain in below deck history,” he added. Boatswain Raygan Tyler fought early on, being filmed taking more smoke breaks than working. She, too, didn’t seem so sure about determining distances during docking, which was when Yawn got uncomfortably close to the cement dolphins.
returning Below Med Deck Deckhand Mzi “Zee” Dempers told the Showbiz Cheat Sheet that he missed White’s leadership on deck. “Malia was definitely led from the front or by example,” he said. “That’s definitely something that Malia had in her personality. But at the same time giving an opportunity for others to grow. Malia wanted to teach you all the time and she wants to see people grow and do well and excel in their careers.”
below deck Season 10 is Monday at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
