Real name Carlos Irwin Estevez, Charlie Sheen was born in New York. A child of the ball, son of the actor Martin Sheen, his path in cinema was all the more clear as he was truly fascinated by his father. He landed his first role in 1974 in the TV movie, The Execution of Private Slovik. During his studies, for which he did not really make an effort, he met playmates with whom he would shoot amateur films, Sean Penn and Rob Lowe.
But above all, he owes his success to Oliver Stone who made him play in Platoon in 1986. The director, seduced by his performance, made him appear in Wall Street the following year. Likewise, he was approached for Born on the 4th of July, but Tom Cruise stole the spotlight from him. Since then, Charlie Sheen has never worked with Oliver Stone again.
