The 24-year-old accomplished something every hitter dreams of. He surpassed India captain Rohit Sharma’s record by becoming the youngest batsman in ODI history to break a double century. Rohit was 26 years and 186 days old when he set the record against Australia on November 2, 2013, in Bangalore.
1st player to convert Maiden’s ODI ton to double ton
Ishan Kishan became the first batsman in cricket history to convert his maiden ton into a double century in ODIs. His previous highest score was 93, which he scored against South Africa in Ranchi on October 9, 2022.

Fastest double hundred in ODI
Kishan broke the 138-ball ODI ton of West Indies great Chris Gayle to score the fastest double hundred in the 50-over format. Gayle played a 147-ball 215-run strike against Zimbabwe in Canberra on 24 February 2015.
Highest stroke scored against Bangladesh in ODIs
The previous record for the fastest ODI score against Bangladesh was held by Zimbabwe’s Charles Coventry who scored 194* in Bulawayo on 16 August 2009. Now Kishan’s strike has surpassed Bulawayo. The Ranchi-born player is also the first Indian to score a double ton outside of India.
1st batsman to score double ton on Bangladeshi soil
Australian all-rounder Shane Watson smashed 185 at Mirpur on 11 April 2011. Kishan broke Watson’s record with his double hundred to become Bangladesh’s leading ODI ground run scorer.
