Former Durant resident Forrest Lewis, last seen in Aubrey, Texas after Thanksgiving dinner, was recently found dead. His body was discovered today after he was reported missing last week.
Lewis was reportedly last seen wearing a long-sleeved brown shirt, gray sweatpants and a pair of Nike sneakers. Lewis’s fiancee told her sister Thursday that she didn’t know where he was when she left and disappeared.

According to the Texas Division of Public Safety, Lewis’s black Mercedes was discovered Tuesday on private property near FM 2931, three miles southeast of Aubrey. Private C. Henderson testified in writing that the car was traveling southbound “at excessive speed” when it flipped, struck dense brush and crashed.
Henderson stated that the investigation into Lewis’s death is ongoing. Everyone shared their grief and loss after learning of Lewis’ passing by remembering him and sharing tributes and condolences on social media:
