Who was Mel Dee Dzelde?
Mel Dee Dzelde was a program manager and broadcaster from South Australia. She was born in 1970 in Adelaide. She worked for Grantbroadcasters at Power FM SA. Mel Dzelde was a very famous radio personality in Australia.
She was also an author who specialized in children’s books. One of her books titled “Azzurra” was very loved by both children and parents.
Mel began her on-air career as an executive producer for Kym Ali and later worked at Mix 102.3 in the early 2000s. She was heavily inspired by Oprah Winfrey.
How did Mel Dzelde die?
Mel Dzelde passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022, after a long and exhausting battle for health. He was only 52 years old at the time of his death. The sad news of Mel’s passing was confirmed by her husband Chris Dzelde today.
“The world got a little more confusing today at 9.9.30am, at which time my dear wife, Mel Dee Dzelde, died peacefully in her rest. Yet her elation and unimaginably thoughtful soul of hers will live on in all who were touched by her especially strong and superb sorcery,” Chris wrote.
“Many thanks to you, my dear husband, for nearly a decade of shared joy! (We’re actually called love birds!), and I’m blown away by the joy you radiated over everyone! Also, we’ll make sure the axes keep going! (They could try to be even more notable now!) An exceptional thank you to all of Mary Potter Hospice for taking such glowing consideration of both of us,” she added.
Mel and Chris met when she was working at Mix 102.3 and later got married. Chris himself is a media personality. The two have been married for over 10 years. We can only imagine how sad Chris would be at this point.
Mel Dzelde dead at 52: What was the cause of her death?
Mel Dee Dzelde died after having multiple health problems, including cancer and ALS. He was receiving treatment for several rounds of growth and motor neurone disease. She had been diagnosed with stage 4 rectal disease a long time ago.
Dzelde was being treated with chemotherapy and radiation, but she was never away from work much. Her voice could be heard regularly on the air. She also underwent a rectal resection medical procedure.
Last month, Oprah Winfrey pledged $15,000 for Mel Dee Dzelde on Ali Clarke’s Breakfast Show.
After a long and courageous battle against a series of health problems, Mel Dzelde passed away today. She had entered hospice care earlier this month.
