The iQOO 11 launch event has been postponed. The company took to Weibo to confirm the launch of its new flagship series of smartphones in China. The iQOO 11 5G and 11 Pro 5G were scheduled to debut on December 2. However, the devices will be released at a later date. iQOO was also expected to launch its new flagship phone in Malaysia. It is unknown if the launch in Malaysia has had an impact following the change in event plans for the Chinese market.
Along with the iQOO 11, the company also confirmed that it will postpone the launch of the Neo 7 SE, which was scheduled to debut at the same event. Let’s take a look at more details about the canceled iQOO event on December 2.
The launch of iQOO 11 and Neo 7 SE is postponed
The wait for the new flagship series of smartphones iQOO 11 and the Neo 7 SE will be a bit longer than expected as the company postponed the launch. The new release date is unknown at the moment. iQOO did not disclose the reason for the postponement of the launch. The company only revealed that the new release date will be announced soon. “We are sorry to inform you that the new product launches of the iQOO 11 series and iQOO Neo7 SE will be postponed. We will notify you as soon as the new release date is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and support,” iQOO posted on Weibo.
The devices could be presented in December 2022. We can expect the launch date to be announced in the coming days.
The iQOO 11 series is confirmed to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The devices will also feature UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM. Apart from this, iQOO revealed that the phones will have a triple camera setup. The iQOO 11 series will also get a custom ISP V2 to improve low-light and portrait mode video recording.
On the front, the iQOO 11 and 11 Pro are said to have a 6.78-inch QHD+ display with 144Hz refresh rate support. There will be a hole-punch cutout at the top center for the 16MP front-facing camera. The 11 Pro will have a curved screen, while the 11 5G’s screen will remain flat.
On the back, the iQOO 11 Pro is said to have a 50MP f/1.75 Sony IMX866 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 150-degree fisheye lens, and a 13MP portrait sensor. The vanilla model, on the other hand, will feature a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera.
In terms of battery life, the 11 Pro will feature a 4,700mAh unit with support for 200W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. The iQOO 11 5G will pack a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging support. 120W. Both devices will be running the latest Android 13 update out of the box. They will have an Origin OS Forest layer on top of Android. The India and Global variant will come with a layer of Funtouch OS 13 on top of Android.
