Jigawa: fire rages through hut, consumes mother and two daughters



A 30-year-old mother, Khadija Ibrahim, and her two daughters were killed in a fire in Tsangarwa village, Gwaram local government area of ​​Jigawa state.

According to a statement issued by the spokesman for the Nigerian Civil Defense and Security Corps in the state, Adamu Shehu, the incident occurred around 11pm on Friday when fire ripped through a hut while the victims were sleeping.

The statement said: “The fire incident involved a hut, where the 30-year-old mother slept together with her two daughters, four-year-old Aisha and two-year-old Rabi.

The statement further explained that the mother and her daughters were completely consumed by hell, as none of the victims were rescued alive.

“The cause of the fire was unknown, but neighbors said it might not be related to a coal fire that was meant to keep them warm,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, according to the statement, the remains of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors, who were on emergency duty, confirmed their deaths, and since then they have all been buried according to Islamic rites.
