The Diocesan Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ijesa North, Osun State, Reverend Isaac Oluiyamo, has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to honor his promises to the workers by paying their salaries and allowances.
This is how the cleric called on all levels of government in Nigeria to make life in the country easier for people.
Oluyamo also asked for prayers for Nigeria, as well as asking the government to be more diligent in seeking good governance.
Speaking at the 2022 Diocesan Summit held at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State, on the theme “Building a Vision for the Diocese of Northern Ijesa,” on Saturday, Oluyamo, while congratulating the new governor of the state, Adeleke, called him to serve the people with love and a sense of responsibility.
The cleric said: “Our prayers are with him (Adeleke) for good governance and a successful tenure. Please, do not forget to fulfill his promises to pay the salaries and allowances of workers and retirees.
Commenting further on the state of the nation, Oluyamo admonished the youth to avoid any form of malpractice as the year drew to a close and ahead of the 2023 general election.
He said, “The state of our nation requires prayer, prayer, and more prayer. We call on the government to get up and running in this business of good governance and making life easier for the population.
“We ask young people to avoid any form of evil practice as the year comes to a close and we get closer to the 2023 general election.”
