(NewsNation) — Kenny DeLand Jr. is alive and was able to speak to his parents, French prosecutor Eric Vaillant
he said on Twitter on Friday.
DeLand Jr. is a study abroad student finishing a semester at a university in the southeastern part of France, near the Italian-Swiss border.
His family said he got on a train on November 27 and that was the last time they heard from him, until now.
DeLand Jr.’s father confirmed to CNN that he had just spoken to his son after suddenly hanging up during a call with the news outlet.
“He’s alive, that’s all I can say.” told CNNalthough he did not elaborate on what his son told him, or where DeLand Jr. was.
