Lyst Index Loewe back is climbing back to the top of the hottest brands thanks to cultural commitment, IT pieces and collaborations.
The Spanish luxury fashion house made it to first place in the Lyst index for the second quarter of 2024. This meant that Lyst Index moved past the fashion houses of the Italian Prada Group Miu Miu and Prada, which secured second and third place. This emerges from the ranking published on Wednesday by the fashion shopping search engine.
Lyst Index: Loewe back at the top on the throne
Lyst Index Loewe back last topped the list exactly a year ago in the second quarter of 2023 , but then made way for Prada and Miu Miu later in the year. Fashion houses Versace, Balenciaga and Jacquemus all gained at least one position, while Moncler fell to ninth place.
The Italian fashion house Gucci, which topped the list some time ago, made it back into the ‘Top 10’, although the Kering flagship slipped by 21 percent to 2.08 billion euros in the first quarter of the current financial year compared to the previous year. The new deputy CEO Stefano Cantino , creative director Sabato De Sarno’s first cruise collection, which was presented at London’s Tate Modern museum, and a tennis capsule ensured a plus for Gucci, at least in searches on Lyst.
Valentino, Skims, Burberry, New Balance, Louis Vuitton, The Row, Alaia, JW Anderson and Dolce & Gabbana follow in places 11 to 19. New again at number 20 is the US brand Coach, which was last in the rankings in the fourth quarter of 2022.
The hottest pieces in the second quarter
Lyst Index Loewe back also tops the list for the most searched pieces on Lyst. This is a collaboration with the Swiss sportswear retailer On Running. The sporty shoe model ‘Cloudtilt Loewe II’ caused searches for On to increase by 308 percent after its release in late May and also helped the brand become “the fastest growing brand” outside the ‘Top 20’, according to Lyst. Coach’s ‘Tabby Bag’ made it to third place, going viral with 34.2 million posts on the social media platform Tiktok. With a starting price of $385, it is a showcase model for more affordable luxury with a trendy aesthetic. The Santa Croce from Dragon Diffusion, a specialist in braided leather bags, has also managed to achieve cult status with prices between 300 and 500 US dollars. The bag made it to fifth place on Lyst Index.
London-based womenswear brand Amy Lynn’s viral success on Tiktok, with more than 61.6 million posts, also helped the brand’s ‘Puffball’ dress receive 53 percent more searches in April, making it the seventh hottest product in April quarter made.
Number one in menswear and fourth overall was a summery shirt from Casablanca. The Parisian brand, known for its colorful and casual styles, saw 64 percent more searches this quarter. The brand’s famous fans include racing driver Lewis Hamilton and musician Justin Bieber.
