Milena “Mila” Markovna Kunis was born in Ukraine in 1983. When she was seven, her father (an engineer) and mother (a physics teacher) moved to Los Angeles because they felt discriminated against as Jews in their homeland. Mila initially suffered from adjustment difficulties, but she became interested in a career as an actress early on. During her high school years, she took acting classes in the afternoons and got her first roles on children’s television and in commercials.
