NGX Closes Negative with N25 Billion Market Cap Drop


Commercial activities on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed the day with a loss of N25 billion in market capitalization as bears regained control of the local bourse.

The All Share Index (ASI) decreased 0.09% to close at 48,853.54 points. Along the same lines, the market capitalization depreciated by N25 billion.

At market close on Tuesday, the stock value stood at 26.6 trillion naira. So far this year, the stock market has advanced 6137.1 basis points or 12.56%.

Meanwhile, the market breadth closed in the negative as SMURFIT led 13 gains, with 16 losses surpassed by SCOA at the end of today’s session.
