Veteran musician Rex Owusu Marfo, popularly known in the showbiz fraternity as Rex Omar, has said that politics is not the preserve of the few in this country.
According to the legendary Highlife musician, all Ghanaians belong in being a politician and their profession has nothing to do with being a party activist.
The ‘Abiba’ hitmaker made these comments during an interview with Amansan Krakye when asked why he seems to have abandoned his music career to join the political arena.
He replied: “Akufo-Addo is also a lawyer, so why did a lawyer of his reputation decide to meddle in politics? Just because he’s a musician doesn’t mean he’s not Ghanaian.
“I was a Ghanaian before I became a musician and then I am not only a musician, I am also a businessman and an entrepreneur. You see, in this country politics is not the preserve of a few,” he added on the Kastle Entertainment Show.
“Every citizen should be a politician, even in our homes we do politics, as far as I’m concerned my profession has nothing to do with being involved in politics or being a party activist,” he said on Kastle FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com
