Mr. Ismail Omipidan, the media aide to the immediate former Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, described as “reckless and unprepared” the statement about the liquidation of the Osun loans credited to Mr. Sola Fasure, media adviser to the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Rauf. Aregbesola.
Omipidan also challenged Fasure to produce records of the alleged repayment of loans Aregbesola incurred when he was state governor.
In response to an earlier statement signed by Fasure, where he said that the loans Aregbesola incurred between 2013 and 2017 during his tenure as governor of Osun had been paid off, Omipidan described the claim as unfortunate.
The statement further read in parts: “Fasure should know that the EFCC is a responsible and demanding agency. Therefore, they know fact from fiction. They will know who did what and when. This is where I find your call to the EFCC not only irresponsible and unprepared, but also reckless.
“Fasure and his fellow travelers are simply trying to exploit the angry political reality to spew lies at the public.
Their statement has further confirmed our position that they are working in conjunction with Adeleke and the PDP.
This further explains why the PDP government cleverly avoided publishing the dates the loans were obtained.
“I challenge Fasure to release details of how the loans were allegedly paid off for members of the public to scrutinize. Once again, I want to reiterate that we never took any loans before or after the July 16 gubernatorial election as Fasure and the PDP allege. I have done my best to prove that the accusations against my director are unfounded.”
