Unlike other celebrities who have made social media an extension of their business, Paul can do without daily updates. He said GQ Magazine would rather “go to a corner and write a song” than to go to social networks.
“A lot of people in my family use Instagram and I tell them, ‘I can’t believe you’re doing this because every time you post something, you have to think of something clever to say.’ It is the worst pressure on earth. Because all you’re doing is taking a picture of your breakfast, you need to say, “Pancakes aren’t just for Shrove Tuesday.” To me, that’s not fun,” admitted the animator.
He continued: “I have an Instagram account and from time to time I use it, but it’s not me. It’s my team that does it. I like it, and I like that they do it, and when I do it, I enjoy it, especially when something important has happened, like someone’s birthday or someone who has died.
Paul concluded: “I just can’t be bothered.” I immerse myself in all these things, but they do not attract me. I’d rather go to a corner and try to write a song.”
Composition remains an essential part of Paul McCartney’s work as an artist.
Paul spoke about how songwriting continues to be an integral part of his work as an artist. A nprexplained his method.
“If I were to sit down and write a song, right now, I would use my usual method: I would sit down with a guitar or with the piano and look up melodies, chord shapes, musical phrases, some words, a thought just to get started,” he revealed.
“Then I sit down with him to figure it out, like writing an essay or doing a crossword puzzle. That’s the system I’ve always used that John [Lennon] and I started with. I have never found a better system. Just strumming the guitar and looking for something to suggest a melody and maybe some words if you’re lucky.
“Then I play around with it and try to follow the trail, try to follow where it seems to be leading me. And sometimes it leads me to a dead end, so I have to retrace my steps and start again on another path, “concluded Paul.
