Who was Maurice Campbell?
Maurice Campbell was a student at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a second year student who was admired by everyone around him. Before coming here, Maurice attended the Horace Mann School in New York.
He was a student of Health and Societies at Penn College. Outside of academics, Maurice also contributed as a reporter for The Daily Pennsylvania. He worked in the athletic department and covered a variety of sports, including volleyball and basketball.
How did Maurice Campbell do it?
Maurice Campbell died on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. His exact age at the time of his passing is unknown at this time, but he was reportedly in his early 20s. The death of the young man has left his colleagues and family members shocked.
Campbell’s family stated in the email to the Penn community that they “want to believe that [their] son is a little ripple of hope.”
“He was the voice of reason that made people stop and think, even when emotions were running very, very high,” his family added.
Campbell’s father, Maurice Campbell Sr., also revealed that his son cared deeply for his friends, family and the countless people at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Memorial Sloan Kettering who “treated him with compassion” in the email.
