In preparation for the 2023 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission has begun the air transport of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines to the states of the federation.

The chairman of the electoral arbitrator, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, had repeatedly said that there was no going back on the deployment of BVAS and INEC’s Results Viewing Portal in the nation’s general elections scheduled for February and March 2023.

In a tweeted post on INEC’s verified Twitter page on Wednesday, the commission stated that its chairman, as part of the commission’s readiness assessment, observed the airlift of BVAS machines to other states at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, lakes.

The tweet read: “As part of the Commission’s readiness assessment prior to the #NigeriaDecide2023 election scheduled for February and March 2023, INEC President Professor Mahmood Yakubu today observed the air transport of BVAS machines to other states at the International Airport, Lagos State.”
