Quentin Tarantino I had the opportunity to work with the actor jennifer garner for the first time on one of your favorite shows. During his collaboration, he was more than impressed by his effort on set.
A network executive wondered if Jennifer Garner was hot enough for ‘Alias’
Alias it was a tv series created by JJ Abrams starring Garner as double agent Sydney Bristow. Abrams has already worked with Garner on another television series, and the actor impressed him enough to hire her for Alias. But others didn’t share Abrams’ confidence in Garner after she auditioned for the lead role.
“I finished it, she walked in, it was amazing,” Abrams once said according to People. “And I remember someone online saying, ‘I don’t know, is that sexy enough?'”
Still, Garner would eventually officially find himself in the title role. He received the news while watching the movie. Trafficand I was over the moon over the good news.
“So I was in the middle of the movie, my phone started ringing and I went outside. It was Finallyfinally mine and just remember seeing the rest of Traffic like it was a romantic comedy. It was like levitating over the rest of the theater seats. And so scared,” she recalled to tv line.
Quentin Tarantino gave Jennifer Garner big props for her work on ‘Alias’
Alias he recruited many fans during his run. One such fan was Oscar winner Tarantino, who held the show in such high regard that he watched it weekly. Which was a weird habit for Tarantino at the time.
“This is the only new show of the season that I watch,” Tarantino said in a 2002 interview with Rolling Stone.
tarantino felt Alias it was able to succeed where other classic shows were successful as well. She also had high praise for Jennifer Garner, whose character she threw punches when she guest-starred on the show.
“Alias deliver what The man from UNCLE always promised: it actually lives up to the awesomeness of its potential,” Tarantino said. “Week after week, jennifer is making fights in tight rubber dresses and heels, so actually, accessories. And at the same time, she’s doing all these dramatic things. When I met her, I said, ‘Just so you know, you’re going to work forever.’ You don’t have to prove anything to anyone anymore.’”
What Jennifer Garner found frustrating about ‘Alias’
Although Garner enjoyed her time on the hit series, she still had some reservations about it. Since he was a spy series, Garner participated in a vigorous training regimen to help sculpt his body. She felt this would help her land the role in the first place. After receiving training from the martial arts instructor, Master Yu, she was already a yellow belt when she auditioned for Alias.
“However, Master Yu tried to kill me. There were all those flights of stairs next to the studio. He would make me run up and down, ten times, and he would stand there yelling at me,” Garner recalled, offering a glimpse of his training.
But in the meantime AliasGarner was disappointed that much of the more physical parts of the show took a backseat to the drama.
“No, but you have to understand in Alias I spent a lot more time doing dramatic scenes and relationship arcs and acting than kicking ass,” he once said in an interview with comic movie. “And that’s part of what I found frustrating. Here I found this thing that I loved and was kind of obsessed with and couldn’t get enough of, but every time I fought in Alias We didn’t have time to rehearse. It was just going in and out, so I felt like I wasn’t improving as much as I’d like. I wasn’t really training.”
