Realme is gearing up for the launch of a new GT series smartphone. The company might launch the Realme GT Neo 5 as its new premium smartphone in China in the coming weeks. The GT Neo 5 will be released as a successor to the GT Neo 3 series, which launched earlier this year with fast charging support up to 150W. The exact release date of the GT Neo 5 series is unknown. Realme announce more details about the same soon. Meanwhile, the specifications of the Realme GT Neo 5 series have been revealed.
Realme is said to be launching two smartphones in the lineup. These will be called GT Neo 5 and GT Neo 5 Pro. Tipster Digital Chat Station has uploaded the specifications of the two phones ahead of their official debut. Let’s take a look at the specifications, features and other details of the Realme GT Neo 5 series.
Realme GT Neo 5 series specifications
The Realme GT Neo 5 series will include two smartphones. The company is likely to introduce the GT Neo 5 Pro alongside the vanilla model. As reported by Digital Chat Station (via), the two smartphones, GT Neo 5 and GT Neo 5 Pro, will be similar, except for the battery and fast charging technology.
The devices will have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2772×1240 pixels. The company is said to have also increased refresh rate support from 120Hz to 144Hz. Both phones will likely have a hole-punch cutout at the top.
Under the hood, there will be a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This is contrary to some rumors, which suggested that the Neo 5 series will feature a Dimensity 8200 SoC. The devices will also feature a triple camera setup on the back.
According to the tipster, the phones will feature a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). The camera sensor is the same one that is rumored to appear in the OnePlus 11 5G. Digital Chat Station further revealed that the phone will have an f/1.79 auxiliary lens and a 25mm telephoto lens. The device will offer support for 0.6-20x zoom.
There will also be an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone will use a plastic frame and come with RGB lighting, something we often see on gaming phones.
As for the differentiating specs, one of the two phones will feature a 5000mAh battery and support 150W fast charging. This could very well be the vanilla model. The Pro model could pack a smaller 4600mAh battery and support much faster 240W fast charging out of the box.
Realme is expected to launch the phones with Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. The devices could debut in the first quarter of 2023.
