Redmi Note 12 Pro series will launch on January 5 in the Indian market. The Redmi Note 12 Pro series will consist of two smartphones: the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. The Note 12 Pro series smartphones will be sold exclusively through Flipkart. Now, the brand has confirmed that it will launch the Redmi Note 12 5G alongside the Pro models. This will be the first Vanilla Redmi Note model to feature 5G connectivity.
Ahead of the launch, a microsite has been launched on Amazon and the Mi Online Store revealing some of the key specifications of the Redmi Note 12 5G Indian variant. Based on the specifications revealed via the microsite, it appears that the Indian Note 12 5G variant will be the same as the Chinese Note 12 5G variant. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications of Redmi Note 12 5G.
Redmi Note 12 5G: confirmed specifications
The microsite at Amazon reveals that the upcoming Note series smartphone will offer an AMOLED display with a centered hole-punch notch. The microsite does not reveal whether the device will feature a high refresh rate display. Furthermore, the listing reveals the presence of a triple rear camera setup and an LED flash on the back.
Amazon’s microsite also confirms that the Note 12 5G India variant will feature a 48MP camera setup, similar to its Chinese counterparts. The listing also reveals support for 33W fast charging. This means that in terms of charging capabilities, the Note 12 5G will be the same as last year’s Note 11. Xiaomi also claims that the Note 12 5G will be the slimmest Redmi Note released to date.
Furthermore, the microsite reveals that the Indian Note 12 5G variant will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. We can expect it to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor, similar to its Chinese counterpart. For those who don’t know, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is built using a 6nm process and brings with it an integrated Adreno GPU. This is the same processor that powers the iQOO Z6 Lite.
The Indian variant of the Redmi Note 12 5G will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, as can be seen from the official renders shown on the microsite. The official renders also reveal that the Note 12 5G will come in a blue color option. For those unaware, the Redmi Note 12 5G is retailing in black, white, and blue color options in China.
The Redmi Note 12 5G is priced at RMB 1,199 (roughly Rs 13,500) for the 4GB + 128GB configuration in China. Thus, we can expect the same Redmi Note 12 5G variant to be priced at around Rs 14,000 in the Indian market. Furthermore, we can expect the company to launch the Redmi Note 12 5G in 4GB + 64GB configuration in India as well.
