Redmi has confirmed the launch of the Note 12 Pro in India. The Note 12 Pro will launch alongside the Pro+ 5G model in India on January 5. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Note 12 Pro 5G will come with support for optical image stabilization for the main camera. The company claimed that the Note 12 Pro 5G will also be the first smartphone in its segment to offer the camera sensor stability feature. The Note 12 Pro 5G has been launched in China. It is unknown if the same device will make it to India.
We say this because historically, the Note series in China has been different (and sometimes superior) in terms of hardware compared to the Indian/global variants. The Chinese Note 12 Pro variant also comes with support for OIS. Therefore, we can expect the Indian variant to share most of the specifications with the Chinese variant.

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G Specifications
The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G will be launched as a successor to the Note 11 Pro 4G, which launched earlier this year in India. The device is set to debut sooner than expected. Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G along with the Pro+ model on January 5.
The Note 12 Pro will finally bring support for 5G networks in India, which was missing from its predecessor. Xiaomi also revealed that the device will support OIS without revealing the details of the camera sensor. The Indian variant is supposed to come with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, which is also used in the Chinese variant.
If the camera setup is the same, the Indian variant of the Note 12 Pro 5G will also feature an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. There will also be a 16MP front camera sensor.
The Chinese variant also features a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. However, we believe that the Indian variant might pack a different processor. Xiaomi might launch the phone with a Snapdragon 695 SoC to keep the price down. The device is also likely to pack a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

The phone is likely to have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. It will support a 120Hz refresh rate and could offer a maximum brightness of 900 nits. The device is also likely to run MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Although Xiaomi has announced MIUI 14, the Note 12 series in India might get it as part of an OTA update instead of an out-of-the-box rollout.
