The Redmi Note 12 series is confirmed to launch in India soon. The company has confirmed that the Note 12 Pro series will launch in India on January 5. Redmi will launch two mid-range smartphones. These include Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro Plus 5G. The company has confirmed that both phones will offer optical image stabilization (OIS) support. The Note 12 Pro+ 5G is also confirmed to feature a 200MP main camera sensor.
Xiaomi has yet to confirm other details of the phones. The devices have already been launched in China. However, some of the specifications of the two devices will vary when they are launched in India. More details of the Note 12 series will be released soon. Meanwhile, a new leak has revealed the launch price of the Note 12 Pro+ 5G ahead of its official debut in India.
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G India price could be the same as Realme 10 Pro+ 5G
Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is said to be launched in India with three storage options. Its base variant will offer 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. According to insider Paras Guglani, the device will launch for Rs 24,999 including bank offers. The effective price is the same as the launch price of the Realme 10 Pro+ 5G in India. Guglani further revealed that the Note 12 Pro+ 5G will launch with 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB storage options.
The 8GB + 256GB variant of the Note 12 Pro+ 5G will launch for Rs 26,999, while the 12GB RAM option is said to be priced at Rs 28,999. Two things to note here. Firstly, the 8GB RAM variant of the Note 12 Pro+ 5G undercuts the Realme 10 Pro+ 5G with the same configuration for Rs 1,000. Secondly, the top variant of Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G offers more RAM for an additional Rs 1,000 compared to Realme 10 Pro+ 5G.
Guglani further revealed that the phone could go on sale in India from January 11. Xiaomi has not confirmed any details about it.
The company has only confirmed that the Note 12 Pro+ 5G will come with a 200MP main camera and OIS support. The phone is expected to have a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC and a 5000 mAh battery under the hood. It’s also likely to support 120W fast charging out of the box. The triple camera setup of the device will include an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. There will be a 16MP front camera for selfies.
