Samsung Galaxy S23 Series with S Pen Spotted on FCC for US Market; Galaxy S23 Ultra gets TENAA certified


With Samsung gearing up to launch the Galaxy S23 series of flagship smartphones in February 2023, device listings on multiple certification websites are plentiful and fast. And in the latest line of listings are the Samsung Galaxy S23 Series devices and the Stylus Pen that have now appeared on the FCC certification website. These are devices that will launch in the US and apart from these, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has also been spotted on TENAA.

Samsung is expected to launch three premium smartphones in the lineup. These include the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S23 5G and Galaxy S23 Plus (global versions) were previously spotted on the FCC website.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Key Specs Revealed on TENAA

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra listing on TENAA has revealed quite a few key specs, including dimensions and camera details. The top-tier flagship will come at just 8.9mm thick and will measure 163.4mm and 78.1mm in length and width and weigh 233 grams. It will have a 6.8-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 × 3088 pixels. It will be powered by a 4855 mAh battery and will feature an 8-core CPU with a maximum frequency of 3.36 GHz, which is expected to be the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

For RAM it will have 8GB and 12GB variants while storage options will include 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options. As for the camera, it will come with a quad setup on the back with two 12MP sensors, one 108MP sensor and another 2MP sensor, while on the front it will have a 12MP sensor.

Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra (US versions) and S Pen FCC certification

The Samsung Galaxy S23 will be the most basic variant of the upcoming line of flagship smartphones. While the global variant was only recently spotted on the FCC certification website, now the US version has also appeared. The listing reveals that the US versions of the Galaxy S23 have the model number SM-S911U, while the S23 Plus has the model number SM-S916U and the Galaxy S23 Ultra has the model number SM-S918U. While the Stylus Pen or S Pen as Samsung calls it has also been separately FCC certified under the model number EJ-PS918. The S Pen will be available only in the Ultra variant.

The global variants of the S23 series have been listed above and they confirm that both the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus phones will come with 25W fast charging support. The Galaxy S23 has been rated with a capacity of 3785 mAh and will have a typical rating of 3900 mAh.

The Galaxy S23 Plus has a nominal capacity of 4565 mAh and will have a typical capacity of 4700 mAh. The FCC listing further reveals that both phones feature a Qualcomm SoC, which will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Design renders and other details of both models have been leaked in the past, as well as camera details. Samsung is also said to introduce a satellite connectivity feature, which should help users contact emergency services when in an area without a network.
