Actor Shia LaBeouf we had an interesting time on the set of Illegal acting alongside the likes of Tom Hardy and Jason Clarke. At one point, LaBeouf shared that his two co-stars were having a conversation about expensive purchases that upset him.

Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf had an interesting and very physical dynamic while working together on Illegal. So much so that the two often fought each other just for fun. However, their match sparked a long-lasting rumor that LaBeouf knocked Hardy out on set.
Hardy even once referenced the fight they allegedly had in a 2011 interview with geek den.
“Shia LaBeouf knocked me out, actually, yeah,” Hardy said.
He added that LaBeouf shouldn’t be underestimated and could be a bit dangerous given the situation.
“He knocked me out, Sparko. He got very aggressive. He knocked me out. He is a bad, bad boy,” he continued. “He’s pretty intimidating too.. He’s a scary guy.”
LaBeouf, however, would set the record straight in an episode of hot. LaBeouf knocking out Hardy was just an accidental side effect of one of his numerous wrestling matches. LaBeouf and Hardy were playing at the top of a ladder before Hardy fell down several flights of stairs. Subsequently, Hardy often joked about the incident.
“For the rest of the shoot, he told everyone that I knocked him out,” LaBeouf said.

LaBeouf once made it abundantly clear that he wasn’t in the movie industry solely to make money. So when LaBeouf allegedly heard his Illegal co-stars Hardy and Jason Clarke talking about expensive purchases, it somewhat annoyed him. So much so that he briefly called the two actors over for their chat.
“They’re talking about Ferraris and stuff, like it’s a cool car. If Clarke pulled up in a Ferrari right now, my thought wouldn’t be, ‘What a cool guy!’ It would be, ‘Look at this clown. I think the fact that I despise those things keeps me safe. I cling to my dirt. I like my land,” LaBeouf said.
