But Jesse and I handled the game very well in the sense that we didn’t show anyone that we were communicating, navigating, and influencing people’s decisions. You know, as the guy on the blunt end, it’s just hard, I didn’t think morally that was an option. You know, I, I didn’t think about it, you know. It is Survivor. It’s a game. And that depends on me.

But, we all need the damn money, you know. We all need the money. I have family, I have friends, I have bills. Like, no one needs that money any differently than anyone else, so I get it.

Q: It’s quite possible that your blindside will be added to the list of biggest moves in the new era of gaming. How does it feel?

Cody: It sucks, but you know that blind side. I told myself I can’t be nice in Iowa and have this aloha spirit in the game. And I guess it just shows, unfortunately, who I am as a person, you know, and I’m okay with that.

It’s a game, you know, and I’d rather be added to the other winners list, No doubt about it. But, you know, I’ve got $1,000,000 worth of danes and browns to blame.

Q: If you play again, will you be a less loyal player?

Cody: That’s a secret. I can’t say. That’s going to blow my next chance. [smiles.]
