The European Commission, the executive arm of the EU, had presented a proposal for a new package of sanctions a week ago, which contemplated the inclusion of about 200 Russian individuals and entities on the shortlist.

The package launched by the Commission includes restrictions on “Russian propaganda” channelsand also proposes a investment blockade in the Russian mining sector.
