Vi Launches New Rs 2,999 Prepaid Annual Plan With 850GB Data, 100 Daily SMS – NewsNaija.com.ng


Indian telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced a new plan for prepaid users in India. The new plan presented by the operator is a premium plan and offers a global amount of data, calls, SMS and additional benefits. Previously, the company had presented three special offers for Indian users on the occasion of the Diwali festival. All were long-term and included a semi-annual and two annual prepaid plans. Those were priced at Rs 1,449, Rs 2,899 and Rs 3,099 respectively. Now, the company has launched a Rs 2,999 scheme that applies across India. Vodafone Idea (Vi)’s new prepaid plan for Indian users costs Rs 2,999 and offers various benefits. Users get a total of 850 GB of data, unlimited calls. In addition, you receive 100 SMS every day. The plan is valid for one year or 365 days.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) also grants additional benefits to users with this plan. Users who top up with this plan will get free access to Vi Movies and Vi TV shows. Vi Movies and TV Classic means access to all premium movies, originals, live TV, news and more in your app.

On top of that, users also get the benefits of Binge All Night here, which means you get access to unlimited nightly data between 12am and 6am All without any discount on the pack, or at no additional cost.

Once 850GB of data is used up, you can top up with any other additional data plan or else data will be charged at 50p/MB. If you exceed your 100 SMS limit, Vi will start charging you Re 1 Re local Re 1.5 STD per SMS.

While other carriers like Reliance Jio and Airtel are competing with each other to roll out 5G in India first. Vi has yet to announce any fixed launch dates for the rollout of its 5G services in India. Additionally, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has ordered Vodafone Idea to roll out its 5G services before taking any steps to convert deferred interest payments into principal. The conversion will give the government a 33 percent stake in the company.

With the recent Indian government auction, Vodafone Idea has succeeded in acquiring spectrum in the 5G 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands to bring 5G internet speed to its customers. Vodafone Idea purchased 3300 MHz spectrum in 17 circles and 26 GHz spectrum in 16 circles. In addition, it has also acquired 4G spectrum in three circles. The operator has bought the spectrum for Rs 18,799 crore.
