Vivo X90 Series Global Release Date Leaked Ahead of Official Announcement


Vivo recently launched the X90 series in China. The company launched its three premium flagship smartphones, namely the X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro+ 5G. All three Vivo X90 series phones are expected to launch in India and other markets soon. The company is expected to launch its latest flagship in India during the first quarter of 2023. The exact launch date for the Indian market is unknown. Meanwhile, the global launch date of the Vivo X90 series has been leaked online.

A new leaked poster has revealed the supposed date of the global launch of the X90 series. It reveals that Vivo might launch the X90 series globally on January 31, 2023. Vivo has not confirmed any details regarding the global launch date as of this writing. Therefore, we recommend taking the leaked details with a grain of salt.

The company is expected to launch all three devices in global markets. At the top of the line is the X90 Pro+ 5G, which features a quad-camera setup. The X90, like its more premium siblings, comes with a curved screen. Let’s take a look at the specifications, features and other details of the Vivo X90 series.

Vivo X90 series specifications

The Vivo X90 series features the same 6.78-inch 120Hz curved AMOLED display with HDR10+ support. The display of the X90 Pro+ 5G has LTPO 4.0 technology for 120Hz refresh rate dynamic switching and also comes with a QHD+ resolution. The other two phones come with Full HD+ resolution.

The X90 Pro+ 5G also features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and packs a 4700mAh battery. It supports 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and reverse charging as well. The X90 Pro+ 5G also features a quad-camera setup at the back. The most prominent feature is the inclusion of the 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 main camera sensor. It is accompanied by a 48MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP portrait camera with 2x optical zoom, and a 64MP periscope camera.

The X90 Pro shares the 1-inch 50MP main sensor with the X90 Pro+ 5G. It also comes with a 50MP telephoto camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. The X90 Pro packs a larger 4870mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse charging.

The X90 Pro and X90 feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC under the hood. The X90 5G also features a triple camera setup like the X90 Pro 5G, but the sensors used are different. The Vanilla X90 has a 50MP main camera, a 12MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. It packs a 4810 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

All three phones feature a 32MP front-facing camera. They also feature Origin OS Forest based on Android 13 in China. Global variants will run Funtouch OS 13 out of the box.

Vivo launched the X90 in China at a starting price of CNY 3,699 (roughly Rs 43,900) and the X90 Pro+ 5G for CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs 59,300). The X90 Pro+ 5G, lastly, has a starting price of CNY 6,499 (roughly Rs 77,100). The devices are expected to be priced a bit higher in India.
